Affected by the high altitude, low air pressure and low boiling point, pressure cooker is the main cooking utensil product of the Tibetan people. At present, the style of pressure cooker products sold in the Tibetan market is old, and the people have many inconveniences in the use of pressure cooker. This problem has attracted great attention of the Party committee and government of the autonomous region, In order to implement the work deployment and requirements of the Party committee and government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Department of economy and information technology of the Tibet Autonomous Region timely contacted the China Hardware Products Association around the research and development of multi-functional cooking utensils in the plateau area, hoping to organize industry enterprises and scientific research institutions to conduct research in Tibet in the near future, provide detailed basis for the research and development of multi-functional cooking utensils suitable for the plateau area, and ensure the more scientific, rational and standardized implementation of the project, At the first time, the hardware association formed a cooking appliance industry research group according to the requirements of the Tibetan side, formulated a research plan for Tibet and began to prepare relevant materials for the project.

According to the research and decision of the association, the research group is led by Jin Lixin, full-time vice president of China Hardware Association, Chen Meirong, executive deputy general manager of Ashtar Co., Ltd., Lin Xiaofang, deputy general manager of cooking utensils Business Department of Zhejiang SUPOR Co., Ltd., Xie Junxiong, chairman of Guangdong SHUNFA Hardware Products Co., Ltd., Ji Keqin, Executive Deputy Secretary General of cooking utensils branch, and more than 10 people in charge of R & D of various enterprises. During the five-day field research, it had a discussion and exchange with the leaders of relevant departments of the local government, went deep into the homes of Tibetans and herdsmen, visited a number of local markets, collected key information, fully mastered the pain points and difficulties in the use of cooking utensils in plateau areas, defined the direction and laid a good data foundation for the next R & D projects.

On February 24, a symposium on special cooking utensils for new functions in the plateau region was held in Lhasa. According to the spirit of the exchange meeting on February 15, The proposal for the establishment of the scientific research project "research and development of new cookers suitable for plateau areas" was put forward, and the investigation team went to Tibet for investigation at the first time according to the requirements of the Tibetan side. It also puts forward three suggestions. First, under the framework of government procurement of the Tibet Autonomous Region, update the existing overdue pressure cooker products in Tibet. For example, the Daqing gift cooker for the 60th anniversary of SHUNFA has been overdue. It is suggested to use government procurement to exchange the old for the new to ensure product safety. At the same time, according to the needs of government procurement, supply some new products of other varieties, mainly frying pans, frying pans and kettles. 2、 For the demand for new cookers suitable for plateau areas put forward by the government of Tibet Autonomous Region, it is proposed to develop new pressure cookers with visualization and facilitation functions that can not be met by existing products, and it is suggested to implement them step by step to ensure the safety of products. 3、 Enhance R & D confidence, expand cooperation channels and successfully complete the task.

On the 25th, the experts of the investigation team drove from Lhasa to Dangxiong county with an average altitude of 4200 meters to conduct field investigation at the homes of local Tibetans and herdsmen to understand the pain points and difficulties encountered by the people in the use of cooking utensils. In order to collect more comprehensive data, the research group investigated different families such as Tibetans in the county and herdsmen in pastoral areas to experience the real cooking environment. During the inspection, Jin Lixin introduced the purpose of the visit to the Tibetan herdsmen, and asked about the problems of using the pot, the new requirements, whether to cook dumplings and how long to use them. The Tibetans replied in detail and said that they were full of expectations for the new products. The problems existing in the use of pressure cookers in plateau areas have long attracted the attention of domestic cooking utensils enterprises. The research and development personnel of enterprises carry a variety of new pressure cookers for on-site demonstration. During the operation, we can see that the new pressure cookers can effectively solve the problem of excessive pressure relief. The pressure relief takes only 1-2 minutes. The dumplings are complete and the noodles taste good, which is highly loved by local residents. And the new pressure cooker takes into account the multi-functional integration of steaming, boiling, stewing and so on. Next, the R & D personnel need to sort out the collected data and make targeted adjustments based on the existing technology to meet the cooking needs of people in high-altitude areas. Subsequently, the research group investigated the main markets in Tibet and communicated with dealers in order to fully understand the level of cooking utensils and sales in the market in Tibet.

The research team has collected important data and laid a good foundation for the next work. Relevant units are stepping up the promotion and implementation of project budget according to relevant requirements. According to the research and decision of the Symposium on special cooking utensils with new functions in plateau area, China Daily hardware technology development center, together with China Hardware Association and three enterprises such as Ashtar, Supor and SHUNFA, jointly developed new functional cooking utensils suitable for multi-pressure in plateau area, and formulated and issued new standards for cooking utensils in plateau environment in combination with existing national standards.
